ASTORIA, Queens (PIX11) – A son was convicted of shoving his mother out of a third-story window in Queens in 2024, the Queens District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday.

Prosecutors said 37-year-old George Tsintzelis got into a fight with 64-year-old Paraskevi Tsintzelis over money on Nov. 15 at 9:10 p.m. George Tsintzelis beat his mother with a cane and threatened his mother with two knives he got from the kitchen, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said George Tsintzelis then, while pressing the knives against his mother’s body, forced her onto the window ledge and pushed her. Paraskevi Tsintzelis suffered multiple broken bones, a cut to her tongue, cuts to her intestines and internal bleeding, according to court documents.

Prosecutors said she underwent multiple surgeries and had to be intubated.

George Tsintzelis was found guilty of attempted murder, assault, aggravated criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal contempt. He will be sentenced on Jan. 21 and faces up to 25 years behind bars.
