Today is going to be cold, very cold across New York State, and that has led weather officials to issue several winter weather warnings and advisories across the state.
Winter Weather Advisory Issued In Western New York
It will be very winter-like in Western New York today. It will start off very cold with temperatures in the single digits and then snow flurries moving later today. A winter weather advisory has been issued for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Southern Erie starting at 1 am on Wednesday until 10 pm on Wednesday.
We will also see some rain and sleet tomorrow as a massive storm front moves across the region over the next 24-48 hours.
Winter Storm Watch For Central New York
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties starting tonight and going until Thursday morning. Heavy snow is possible for that time frame, with an additional 7 to 8 inches of snow possible.
Gale Watch In Place For New York City Area
Downstate, heavy winds prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Gale Watch for Long Island Sound, New York Harbor, and South Shore Bays. Strong winds could capsize boats and cause visibility issues for boaters around the region.
