MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A suspect in a weekend homicide in Manhattan was being held on a $1 million bond in the Riley County Jail following his arrest on Monday night in downtown Topeka, officials said.
The arrested man was identified as Erick Sanchez, 29, of Manhattan.
Riley County Police officials said Sanchez was arrested around 8:14 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of S. Kansas Avenue in Topeka.

The arrest came as a result of a joint effort of law enforcement agencies that included the Riley County Police Department, Topeka Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol, officials said.
Earlier on Monday, Riley County police officials said they were attempting to locate Sanchez and speak with him about the death of 36-year-old Mark Rickenbaker, of Manhattan.
Authorities said Rickenbaker died after being injured in an altercation that was reported around 12:17 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Colorado Street, just south of downtown Manhattan.
Rickenbaker was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, where he later died, officials said.
