The Abilene High School Singers, under the direction of Danette Whiteley, have once again been selected to perform in the Manhattan Concert Productions Octavo Choral Series.
The group will travel to New York City in March to rehearse six selections with guest conductor Brandon Boyd and perform at the world-famous Carnegie Hall. This marks their ninth appearance at the historic venue.
To help fund the trip, each student must raise more than $2,000. One key fundraiser is the “Fall Fantastical” concert on Tuesday, Oct. 21st, at 7:00 p.m. in the Abilene High School Auditorium. The event features performances by the high school and middle school choirs, as well as solo and small group acts.
The Singers are also available to perform at holiday and community events. If you are interested in booking the AHS Singers, contact Whiteley.
