Prosecutors allege that 36-year-old Angelle Thompson, of Somerville, NJ, repeatedly stabbed a 25-year-old Greyhound ticket agent on the morning of September 23, 2025, following ongoing disputes over boarding a bus. According to court documents and statements made in court, Thompson was continuously prohibited from boarding a Greyhound bus late on the night of September 22 and into the early hours of the following morning, leading to repeated confrontations with staff.
At approximately 7am on September 23, Thompson allegedly approached the Greyhound ticket office, attempted to purchase a ticket and got into an argument with the employee. She then allegedly went behind the counter and stabbed the victim several times in the head, torso and legs. An eyewitness alerted Port Authority Police officers, who arrived to find Thompson standing over the victim and arrested her at the scene.
The employee was transported to the hospital and received stitches for approximately nine lacerations, according to information filed in court.
“As alleged, Angelle Thompson viciously stabbed a hardworking employee who was just doing her job,” said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in announcing the indictment. “We will not tolerate acts of violence committed against workers and commuters who use Manhattan’s transit hubs. I wish the victim a full recovery as she continues to heal from this horrific attack.”
Thompson is charged in New York State Supreme Court with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree. According to the District Attorney’s Office, Thompson was remanded following her arrest, and the judge ordered a 730 examination to determine whether she is mentally fit to stand trial.
The victim continues to recover from her injuries.
