It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and strolling past New York City’s famous holiday window displays is one of our favorite Christmas season traditions. Stores like Saks and Dior plan these windows months in advance, brainstorming new ways to surprise and delight shoppers throughout the holiday season. Bergdorf Goodman even unveiled decorated interiors for the first time in ten years. Now that we’re well into the swing of December, most stores have unveiled their displays to great fanfare. Here are the ones to check out.
Dior
Dior’s cooked up its own bit of gingerbread that everyone will want a piece of. The windows of the design house’s flagship New York store are currently showcasing five different vignettes to create a “small theater of gingerbread wonders” that look straight out of a storybook.

David Yurman
When designing the celadon green window display for the David Yurman store, renowned scenographer Stefan Lubrina wanted to evoke the “artistic energy” of David and Sybil Yurman’s downtown art studio—”one that invites you to discover the soul of the David Yurman brand,” Lubrina told ELLE Decor.

Saks Fifth Avenue
A holiday display by Saks is never limited to just the windows—every year, the department store dazzles the city with a top-to-bottom makeover of its 5th Avenue store. This year is no exception. A light show of massive glimmering ornaments hangs from the building’s facade to “dangle” over a series of windows depicting different New York City destinations.

Bloomingdales & Burberry
Another show-stopping facade you won’t want to miss, the Burberry takeover of Bloomingdales this year was one for the books. The windows capture the tale of the Burberry House’s iconic knight emblem preparing for the holidays, while the building itself is “wrapped” in a massive Burberry Check scarf. (There’s a limited edition capsule collection to go along with it, of course.)
