STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help to identify two individuals sought for questioning in connection with a violent store robbery in Mariners Harbor.

The heist occurred on Tuesday at about 12:20 p.m. inside 451 Northfield Ave., according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Two unidentified individuals approached a 53-year-old male employee inside the store. One individual brandished a firearm and struck the victim over the head, and the second individual forced the employee to the ground and demanded property, according to the NYPD statement.

Both individuals then fled the location in a gray Mercedes-Benz SUV, the NYPD said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD provided the media with photos of two individuals sought for questioning, as well as an image of a Mercedes-Benz whose occupants are sought.
