NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York and New Jersey will see the first accumulating snow of the season this weekend when a storm hits the tri-state area, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters warned that some may see a few inches of snow. Here’s everything you should know about the weekend storm:

Timing

Snow is expected to start late Saturday night, according to the NWS. Flakes will continue to fall through Sunday morning, before sunshine returns in the afternoon.

Temperatures will drop to the mid-20s on Sunday.

Meteorologists are expecting at least 1-2 inches of snow in the tri-state area.

The workweek will start sunny but cold on Monday, with highs at 30 degrees. Sunshine will stay overhead until Thursday, which has a small chance of rain.
