At the end of Owning Manhattan Season 1, we learned that Savannah Gowarty accepted an offer from another brokerage. Apparently, there’s much more to the story. Ryan Serhant just revealed that he fired her from his company, and they filmed the whole thing for the show. Somehow, it wound up on the cutting room floor.

Savannah Gowarty was “let go” by Owning Manhattan lead Ryan Serhant

As everyone binges Season 2 of Owning Manhattan, Savannah’s name has been top of mind because she’s been throwing some shade at the current cast on Instagram. Her castmates, Jade Shenker and Tricia Lee, both called her out, claiming that she was “fired” from SERHANT.

So, what’s the tea? Ryan addressed the rumors during an interview with Decider, and they’re right. He fired Savannah from the brokerage.

“She was let go, which we did film, and then it wasn’t in Season 1. That’s something that was cut,” Ryan revealed.

According to Ryan, Savannah’s exit wasn’t about her ability to sell. It was about her relationships with the other agents. As we saw on the show, she wasn’t the most popular girl in the office, and Ryan said that directly led to her departure.

He explained, “Listen, Savannah is great. She’s a great person, has a huge heart. She just wasn’t the right fit for the company. You’ve got to kind of work with everybody when you work with us. If you can’t do that, then you can’t be here regardless of how much you sell or don’t sell.”

Savannah might not have been a good fit for SERHANT, but Ryan admitted that she made “great TV.” She’s also still a realtor in the Big Apple, so if Netflix ever resurrects its other NYC-based real estate show, perhaps she can find a spot there instead.

Owning Manhattan is streaming on Netflix.
