BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Video shows the moment gunfire erupted outside of a Brooklyn sweet 16 party that led to several teens going to the hospital on Sunday morning.
The shots were fired outside of the Burbuja Events venue just after 1 a.m. on Sunday, where police said two shooters opened fire, injuring six teenagers, ages 15, 16 and 17.
Citizen video showed NYPD responding to the violence, carrying one of the victims on a stretcher.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said investigators are combing through the video.
“Based on security camera footage provided by the venue, two unidentified males were observed walking southbound on Ashford Street toward Atlantic Avenue. Upon reaching the intersection, both individuals displayed firearms and discharges multiple rounds toward a crowd gathered outside of the venue. The suspects fired westbound on Atlantic Avenue before fleeing northbound on foot toward Ashford Avenue to parts unknown,” Tisch said.
One teenage girl was shot in the chest and hips, according to detectives. Fortunately, Tisch says all the injuries are non-life-threatening. Mayor Eric Adams said this shooting underscores the urgency of removing illegal guns from city streets.

“When you think about it, six babies were shot in Brooklyn overnight while attending a sweet 16 and it just tells us how our continuous efforts to remove illegal guns off our streets have a crucial role in this city and the close to 25,000 that we have removed saved lives,” Adams said.
As the search for the gunmen is ongoing, Tisch said detectives are following all leads and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
No arrests have been made as of Sunday night.
