Wreaths Across America Honors Veterans at Utica's Forest Hill Cemetery

UTICA, N.Y. — A time-honored tradition took place Saturday with Wreaths Across America, honoring our nation’s veterans.

The event involved laying wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes at Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica.

Wreaths were laid during a ceremony to honor all branches of the military and at the individual graves of those who served.

U.S. Army Retired Major General Peter Lennon said, “The ceremony is a recognition of those who served. Even if we didn’t know them, it’s an opportunity to recognize the meaning of service, the meaning of patriotism, and what has brought us to this state that we’re in right now, which is the greatest nation in the history of the world.”

A similar ceremony was held at the Old Burying Ground in Clinton.
