Little Ruby's steak dinner
Little Ruby’s is an all day Australian-inspired restaurant.

Wish You Were Here Group

Little Ruby’s is a popular all-day restaurant with locations across New York City’s neighborhoods. The Australian-inspired restaurant has been thriving in NYC for 20 years and is finally ready to open outside of the Big Apple. It shouldn’t be a big surprise it’s chosen Dallas to grow, as many other high-end concepts have.

Little Ruby’s specializes in comfort foods, with signature brekkie (breakfast) dishes, along with lunch and dinner. Standout menu items include the Bronte Burger, a 7-ounce beef patty with tomato, spinach, Swiss, sweet chili and mayo on a toasted ciabatta. The Spicy Vodka Pasta is made with canestri and vodka sauce. Ricotta Hotcakes come with whipped maple butter and banana. There’s a chicken schnitzel salad and a healthy crispy rice bowl. Diners at the SoHo location rave about the shrimp pasta.

The full coffee program is another highlight, offering lattes, cold brews and premium Japanese matcha. Beyond morning, the restaurant offers daytime spritzes on tap and made-to-order to-go cocktails with fresh ingredients, such as an espresso martini made with fresh-brewed espresso.

Will you step up to support Dallas Observer this year?

At the Dallas Observer, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $16,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of the Dallas Observer, now’s the time to give back.

Little Ruby's interior Little Ruby’s will go inside 23Springs along Cedar Springs.

The Space

Little Ruby’s is moving into a high-gloss office building, 23Springs, at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Cedar Spring Road. The building is full of amenities, including a high-end fitness studio, lounge, golf simulator, coffee and wine bar, conference center, a park and numerous restaurant spaces. Little Ruby’s is on the ground floor. A patio that seats about 50 extends outdoors. The dining room is designed to be a bright and easygoing space. There’s a small bar for eight.

Little Ruby’s is from Wish You Were Here Group. Founder Nick Mathers felt an immediate connection with Dallas, saying in a news release that “Dallas is experiencing an incredible cultural moment, and we’re excited to bring Little Ruby’s to a city that’s redefining how people dine, gather, and connect. There’s an energy here — a blend of creativity, curiosity, and momentum — that perfectly aligns with what Little Ruby’s represents.”

The New Neighbors of Billionaire Row

We think by “cultural moment,” he means money: So much money is pouring into Dallas as this area becomes a restaurant playground for the ultra wealthy.

Blockbuster restaurants encircle the area, replacing Dallas’ old Restaurant Row with a Billionaire’s Row where upscale seen-and-be-seen concepts are shoulder to shoulder: Catch, Uchi, Nick and Sam’s, Mamani (recently award a Michelin star), Sixty Vines, Avra and Nuri.

Little Ruby’s is expected to open early next year.
