The New York Jets‘ grind through the 2025 NFL season rolls on in Week 7. This time, the Jets (0-6) will host the Carolina Panthers (3-3) at MetLife Stadium.

All week, topics and storylines have been discussed ahead of this battle between these cross-conference foes. In the end, regardless of what is said by players, coaches, media outlets and fans, it always comes down to what unfolds on the field in the NFL.

And once the battle arrives, there will be a few particular things to keep in mind to look out for.

With that, here are five things to watch for during the Jets and Panthers clash in Week 7:

Head coach Aaron Glenn has backed his man in Justin Fields. He’s still going to get the start against the Panthers, but depending on circumstances, can that change? Does Fields have a leash?

Jarvis Brownlee took over Michael Carter’s position on the Jets defense last week. Brownlee played well and was all over the place for the Green and White and with Carter being listed as questionable, Brownlee should have a look at doing that again.

Speaking of Brownlee, he was part of the forced fumble the Jets recorded against the Broncos. New York’s defense could use another one of those just to spark some momentum and positive play against the Panthers. It was not too long ago where the Jets were unable to take away the ball at all.

At this rate, the Jets need to play desperate… do they want to help Glenn keep his job? What about Fields? This needs to show against the Panthers.

While the Jets did have a close game against the Broncos, wide receiver Garrett Wilson was not happy. He had a dust up with Glenn before half… then there’s running back Breece Hall. He took to social media to express his unhappy feelings.

Do these things have a negative effect on their involvement in the Jets offense?
