STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Josh Carter led a balanced attack with 15 points and New Dorp rode a quick start to a 63-55 PSAL 3A division victory over visiting Petrides on Monday.
Sergio Batista (14 points, three treys), Vincenzo Fiorenza (13 points, two treys) and Billy Fraser (10 points, two treys) also scored in double digits for the Centrals, who improved their second-place record to 4-1 in Staten Island’s PSAL division (5-3 overall).
Kareem Nesbitt tied for the game high with 15 points while Daynell Rowland and Aiden Gonzalez added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Panthers (1-4 PSAL, 2-5 overall).
Carter and Fraser scored five points each and New Dorp was clicking defensively as it only allowed one first-quarter field goal en route to a 12-5 lead at quarter’s end.
Although Petrides played the hosts evenly over the last three quarters, Batista scored each of his 14 points in the middle quarters and Carter tallied 10 during the last three periods to help New Dorp maintain its lead.
Elijah Pizarro connected on each of his four free-throw attempts in the second half for the Centrals.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Juneek Daniels recorded a double-double and Eagle defeated the host Raiders for the first time in program history following the PSAL 3A victory.
Daniels finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Armani Perez added 12 points and Anthony Riley had 11 points and eight caroms for EASI, which improved to 3-6 overall (2-3 PSAL).
Mekhi Hines paced the Raiders (1-7, 0-5) with 13 points.
Justin Webley and Javon Jordan combined for 13 points to lead Eagle to a 22-12 halftime advantage.
From that point on, Riley (10 points), Perez (eight points) and Daniels (eight points) took matters into their own hands during the second half as the visitors slowly pulled away.
Tottenville 66, CSIM 33
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Senior Danny Garcia scored a game-high 18 points and the first-place Pirates remained undefeated following the PSAL 3A triumph over the host Dragons in New Springville.
Elias Souleidis added 14 points while Nicholas Picinic and Shiloh Ezderman combined for another 15 markers to help Tottenville improve to 5-0 in league play (6-2 overall).
Danny O’Connor led the Dragons (4-5 overall, 3-3 PSAL) with 16 points, including four three-pointers.
The 6-foot-4 Souleidis scored nine first-half points, Garcia added six and Picinic and Dominick Mennella each tallied five points, including a three-pointer, to help the Pirates take a 33-22 advantage into the lockers.
Garcia, meanwhile, took over from there. The sharp-shooting senior scored 12 points after halftime — including two three-pointers — as the Pirates cruised the rest of the way.

Tottenville 64, CSIM 24
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Blair Tadros led the way with 18 points as the visiting Pirates rolled to the PSAL 1A victory over the Dragons on Monday.
Raymond Markis and Jonathan Crockett added 11 and 10 points, respectively for Tottenville, which remained undefeated in league play (5-0).
Jaycob Garcia paced CSIM with 12 points.
