MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Two men with rap sheets are accused of killing a 23-year-old man and beating him with a bat during a fight near Times Square last month, police said.
Paul Ohore, 32, and Alagie Jatta, 29, were arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in connection with the Nov. 24 incident, according to the NYPD.
The suspects allegedly stabbed Rhode Island native Daevon Silva to death on 49th Street and Seventh Avenue just after 1 a.m., police said.
Silva was hit with a bat and stabbed in the back and thigh. The victim was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved, police said.
It was unclear what sparked the fight and whether the suspects and the victim knew each other.
Ohore and Jatta, both Bronx residents, were picked up by the warrant squad in the Bronx on Tuesday morning.
Ohore has prior arrests for criminal possession of a weapon, and Jatta was accused of stabbing a 55-year-old man in the Bronx in February 2022, authorities said.
Their arraignments were pending on Tuesday.
