Below is a video of the full two hours of the first of two televised general election debates between three candidates for New York City mayor: State Assemblyman and Democratic Party nominee Zohran Mamdani, former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Guardian Angel founder and Republican Party nominee Curtis Sliwa, which took place at 30 Rock on Thursday, Oct. 16, and was broadcast live on several platforms.
Among the topics that the moderators asked about: Affordability and the cost of living, how they’ll stand up to Trump, the city’s Gifted and Talented program and other education issues, Israel and Gaza, the 311 hotline for non-emergency services, their favorite bodega breakfast, and whether they’ll march in all annual NYC parades. Much of the time was taken up in attacks on each other’s capabilities, plans and records, and responses to those attacks.
