NEW YORK (PIX11) — The new year is almost upon us, and for some people, 2026 marks a pay raise.

On Jan. 1, 2026, the minimum wage in New York is set to increase to $17 per hour for New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County, and $16 for the rest of the state.

Additionally, changes to tipped employees will also take effect on Jan. 1.

The cash wage to tipped food service workers will increase from $11 to $11.35 in NYC, Long Island, and Westchester County. Overtime wage for tipped food service workers increases from $19.25 to $19.85, and the tip credit increases from $5.50 to $5.65.

The cash wage to tipped food service workers for the rest of New York will increase from $10.35 to $10.70. Overtime wage for tipped food service workers increases from $18.10 to $18.70, and the tip credit increases from $5.15 to $5.30.

Food service workers do not include delivery workers.
