GREENPOINT — The Greenpoint YMCA’s Spirit of Community gala, held Oct. 14 at Williamsburg’s Giando on the Water, brought together North Brooklyn’s civic, business and cultural leaders.Â
It was an evening celebrating the neighborhood’s enduring sense of connection. Honoring historic Bamonte’s restaurant, President of the North Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Paul Samulski and Keia Clarke of the New York Liberty. The event highlighted how old and new institutions continue to anchor Greenpoint as it evolves, proving that community is not something preserved, but continually built.
The event, which was sold out, was abuzz with talk of the proposed new Greenpoint Y headquarters in River Ring, a development on the waterfront that would give the Y 50,000 square feet of space. Read the full story here.
