EXCLUSIVE: Michael Strassner, the writer, producer and star of the acclaimed holiday romantic dramedy The Baltimorons, has wrapped a lead role in Tuesday, New York, a new indie comedy from writer-director Alex Beh, produced under his Watson Pictures banner. David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer) also stars in the film, shot in Manhattan.

In Tuesday, New York, Strassner leads a trio of soon-to-be longtime friends — alongside Peter Vack and Omar Salazar — on a half-serious, half-existential odyssey across New York City to find a sewing needle for a pair of ripped jeans. Across one meandering Tuesday, the men reopen old wounds, fall into unexpected romantic entanglements, and confront whether it’s ever too late to stitch one’s life back together.

Beh describes the project as “a spiritual cousin to Clerks, Swingers, and Before Sunset — a kind of moving Breakfast Club or My Dinner with Andre, on foot.” He produced the pic alongside Cole Spike.

Others in the cast include Michael Vlamis (Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey) and Erica Dasher (Jane by Design).

Strassner’s The Baltimorons premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award. Directed by Jay Duplass, and drawing on Strassner’s personal life, in his feature debut, the charming indie tells the story of Cliff Cashen (Strassner), a newly sober improv comedian who has a dental emergency that leads to an unexpected romance with his older dentist (Liz Larsen) as they explore Baltimore together. The film is up for the John Cassavetes Award at this year’s Independent Spirit Awards and was named as one of the year’s top 10 independent films by the National Board of Review.

Strassner also recently wrapped a role in the indie The Musical opposite Rob Lowe and Gillian Jacobs. On the television side, he most recently appeared in the award-winning FX comedy series English Teacher. He is repped by Paradigm, Stride Management and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.

Beh starred alongside John Heard, Jean Smart, and Andrew Santino in his previous feature, the romantic comedy-drama Warren. He is repped by Matt Wallerstein.

Vack is represented by Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman; Salazar by Tlynn Talent Management; Krumholtz by Paradigm, Brookside Artist Management, and Sloane, Offer, Wener & Dern; Vlamis by CESD and Artist First; and Dasher by Zero Gravity Management and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
