LOS ANGELES — Rob Reiner’s twisted son Nick Reiner wore a vacant stare and a blue suicide vest as he appeared in court for the first time Wednesday after he was charged with slaughtering his parents inside their Brentwood mansion.

Nick stared straight ahead and offered no hint of emotion during the brief court appearance, which saw him stand shackled and behind a glass wall.

The 32-year-old nepo baby did not enter a plea and only uttered “Yes, your honor” when asked if he waived his right to a speedy trial.

He’s facing two counts of first-degree murder for the violents deaths of beloved director Rob, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70. 

His top-dollar lawyer, Alan Jackson, and prosecutors agreed to push off his arraignment until Jan. 7.

Judge Theresa McGonigle prohibited photos and video to be taken of Reiner in court at the request of the defense.

Following the five-minute appearance, Jackson — known for a string of high-profile clients — urged the public to allow the process to play and not rush to judgment.

“Most importantly, this is a devastating tragedy that has befallen the Reiner family,” Jackson said outside court. “We all recognize that.

“Our hearts go out to the entire Reiner family,” he added. “There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case.”

Nick could face the death penalty if he’s convicted of the high-profile double-slaying because prosecutors hit him with a “special circumstance” — an aggravating factor related to the allegation that he killed more than one person.

He allegedly slashed both his parents’ throats early Sunday and was later arrested roughly 15 miles away hours later, according to authorities.

His arraignment was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but his celebrity lawyer Alan Jackson said he was not medically cleared to travel to court.

The Reiners’ daughter, Romy, stumbled on the gruesome crime scene when she went to check on her parents after a massage therapist received no response at the gate, the New York Times reported.

Nick had long faced troubles with drug addiction, cycling in and out of rehab at least 17 times.

Nick displayed erratic behavior that caught the attention of other guests at the bash, and the nepo brat even got into a tiff with comedian Bill Hader, sources told outlets.

He’s also had a tumultuous relationship with his father for years, including when he had an argument with his parents at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party Saturday night, according to sources.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said during a Tuesday press conference his office has not yet determined if prosecutors will pursue the death penalty against Nick, though the decision might not matter.

In 2019, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order halting all executions. He’s term-limited out of office at the end of next year.
