STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 66-year-old woman died after she and two other pedestrians were struck by a pickup truck while crossing a West Brighton street Thursday evening, police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:50 p.m. in the vicinity of Barker Street and Castleton Avenue, according to police.

According to an NYPD spokesman, a preliminary investigation determined that the 66-year-old woman, along with a 51-year-old woman and a 29-year-old woman, were crossing Castleton Avenue mid-block when they were struck by a westbound 2019 gray Ford F-250.

The three women sustained various injuries — the 66-year-old had stomach pain, the 51-year-old had head pain and the 29-year-old suffered back pain.

All three were initially listed in stable condition and transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, according to the NYPD spokesman.

The 66-year-old woman later died at the hospital, police said.

The driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
