NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Franklin, Tennessee native is living out her life-long dream as a Radio City Rockette in New York City.
At 21 years old, Christina Naslund is kicking off her first season with the legendary dance company, and it’s a historic one as the Rockettes celebrate their 100th anniversary.
Naslund says she’s dreamed of becoming a Rockette since she was six years old. She grew up watching the Rockettes perform in Nashville when they were on tour and in New York City.
However, there were some challenging moments Naslund faced that made her question whether her dream was attainable.
“New York City is huge. There are so many people, so many amazing dancers and you’re just kind of one fish in the sea,” Naslund said. “And I definitely doubted myself a few times. It helped that I was in a conservatory college program, and I had all my set people and all my friends and we could go take classes together. That really helped me build my confidence and realize I can trust my training.
