WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Governor Hochul has responded to the ongoing controversy regarding a wooden box special needs students were allegedly restrained in at Salmon River Central School District.
The statement reads, “School should be a place where every child is safe, respected and supported. These allegations are alarming and entirely unacceptable and the State’s independent education department must take swift action to investigate and rectify this situation.”
As a result of the controversy, some educators with the district have been placed on administrative leave. 7 News will have more coverage in the coming days.
