City invests $68M to protect Prospect Park from flash floods

A massive new investment is aimed at protecting Prospect Park in Brooklyn and the surrounding neighborhood from flash flooding.

In 2023, a record-breaking storm forced the Prospect Park Zoo to close. This investment includes technology to make the park more resilient against extreme weather.

Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Rohit Aggarwala & Prospect Park Alliance President Morgan Monaco joined “The Rush Hour” on Friday to talk about the plan to protect the park.
