Central New York’s Water Authority is urging some customers to reduce water usage.

This is due to a major break in a water main.

The affected towns include Manlius, Pompey, DeWitt, Sullivan, Lenox and Lincoln. This also includes villages within those towns.

Officials say the main distributes Lake Ontario water from a pump station in the town of Clay.

Repairs are underway, but are expected to take up to a week.

OCWA says customers may periodically experience reduced flows and pressures during the coming week.
