Welcoming Winter With Light Accumulations Today From Lake Effect Snow

Lake-effect snow moves in today, starting north in Lewis County before 9 a.m. As we head throughout the morning, snow slowly sweeps south, arriving in Northern and Central Oneida County, north of Utica. Between 3 and 6 p.m., the snow will shift into the Mohawk Valley, before continuing in the Southern Valleys and weakening in the late evening and overnight.

Weather remains mostly quiet Monday, with a few flurries possible later in the day. Widespread snow will return from a clipper system as we head into the overnight into early Tuesday morning. A sliver of warm temperatures creeps in, which could cause some minor snowmelt before we dip back below freezing Wednesday and for Christmas morning. We climb above freezing throughout Christmas Day.
