WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) – Police are investigation after a man was shot at a Windsor restaurant on early Saturday morning.
At around 12:21 a.m. officers were called to Giovanni’s Restaurant located on Windsor Avenue after a report of a man who had been shot, according to the police department.
When crews arrived, they found the victim on the kitchen floor with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Officials said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was rushed into surgery.
He is now in stable but serious condition.
Suspect arrested in New York
Officers located a witness at the scene who provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was operating.
Windsor Police sent an alert to police departments throughout the Northeast who might have seen the vehicle.
New York State Police stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
Officials said the suspect was transported to a police precinct in New York City on weapons charges and he is currently being held in New York. The suspect is expected to face charges for the Windsor incident.
This incident remains under investigation at this time.
