NEW YORK (PIX11) — With snow on its way to the New York City area on Tuesday, the Department of Sanitation issued an advisory for all New Yorkers to be aware of.
A Winter Operations Advisory will take effect from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with a potential for two inches of snow in some areas.
The advisory is for lower-level snow operations, as opposed to a Snow Alert for more significant snow-fighting needs. The Department of Sanitation will deploy over 700 salt spreaders around the city to combat sloppy road conditions.

Snow plows are not part of the plan, but can be dispatched as needed in the unlikely event of more accumulation.
