TIMES SQUARE, Manhattan (WABC) — More than a hundred thousand protesters flooded New York City streets starting in Times Square before heading south for the ‘No Kings’ March on Saturday, according to the NYPD.

The move is part of a nationwide protest against President Donald Trump.

“We’re not being heard and we’re not being seen,” said Sharon Boone.

“We’re here because he thinks he’s a king,” added Ellen Lieberman.

Their reasons are personal.

“I come from three generations of military families and to see the way they’ve been treated made me sick,” said Alison Covert.

“I have three children, two daughters. I worry about their rights. One is gay. I worry about her rights,” adds Joyce Filardi.

Gia Galeano’s parents emigrated to the United States from Argentina and the Dominican Republic.

“It’s heartbreaking and heart-wrenching and just despicable when they take their mother away from their children. That’s too much,” said Galeano.

Another concern is women’s rights.

“That’s what they’re trying to make women in this country — handmaids,” said Mary Alice Boyle.

Some of the organizers say marching is great, but it’s what happens afterwards is what they’re focused on.

“A generational strike for people to withhold their labor because working class people run this city and if they withhold their labor, people would actually stop and take notice,” said Theresa Evangelista.

The NYPD said that zero protest-related arrests were made.
