The NYPD said an off-duty police officer assigned to an area of Manhattan was arrested on Friday, Oct. 17, in the confines of the 50th Precinct, which covers the Bronx neighborhoods of Kingsbridge, Fieldston, Riverdale, Marble Hill, and Spuyten Duyvil.

They said that Troy Reid, 34, who became a police officer on 1/17/2023, and who was assigned to his current role with Public Service Area 5 VIPER 12 on 6/7/2025, was arrested at 9.15 a.m. on Friday, and was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while his ability was impaired, and refusal to take a breathalyzer test.

Police Service Area 5 serves New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) developments in the 23rd, 25th, and 28th precincts in Harlem. He is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
According to public police records, Reid has no disciplinary history and has made eight misdemeanor arrests and five felony arrests to date.
