The Jets’ next game, their seventh chance at a first win in 2025, was three days away.

Practice had just concluded Thursday afternoon at their Florham Park, N.J., training facility, and Sauce Gardner felt compelled to gather his teammates together to deliver a message.

These are difficult times for the Jets, at 0-6 the only winless team remaining in the NFL as they face the 3-3 Panthers on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Their quarterback, Justin Fields, is coming off a historically poor passing performance that produced minus-10 net yards and has left him subject to an avalanche of calls for him to be benched.
