NYPD officials have issued an alert about an assault which occurred on the Upper West Side last week. Police are hoping someone from the general public will be able to assist them in identifying and locating the wanted individual.

According to the report, an unknown male suspect approached a 23-year-old man on the northbound subway platform at 96th and Broadway on Friday, December 19 at about 7:20 p.m.

“The [suspect] punched the victim in the face and then stabbed him in the back after a verbal dispute,” the report states. The suspect then fled the location in an unknown direction. EMS responded and transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.

The wanted individual is described “as a male with a light complexion, approximately 20-30 years, and a slender build. He was last seen wearing black colored clothing.”
