STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It’s been a great year to be a lottery player on Staten Island.

In 2025 alone, 14 winners scored cash prizes among the variety of lottery games available to play in New York City.

This year, TAKE 5 gave Islanders the most prizes while Oakwood’s Romi Cards & Gifts, known as Card$mart, produced the most winning tickets.

BIG Money x20

A scratch-off player pocketed $500,000 from the ticket purchased in February at Romi Cards & Gifts, known as Card$mart, located at 3161 Amboy Road in Oakwood.

The winning Staten Island scratch-off has been claimed, though Lottery officials did not reveal the name of the winner.

Cash4Life

A sole Staten Islander won the coveted $1,000 a week for life in the Cash4Life game back on Feb. 24.

Carmine Lupo bought his ticket at the Arden Shell gas station, located at 1769 Arthur Kill Road, in Arden Heights.

It guarantees a minimum payout of $1 million.

New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Gold

Mary Ann Monaco claimed a $1 million top prize from the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Gold scratch-off game, lottery officials announced on Dec. 3.

Monaco opted to receive a single lump sum payment totaling $410,202 after required withholdings, according to officials.

The winning ticket was sold at Card Corner II, located at 655 Rossville Ave. in Rossville.

TAKE 5A winning ticket amounting to $31,700.50 was pulled on Feb. 19 on Staten Island. The ticket was sold at Castle Deli and Grocery, located at 1215 Castleton Ave., in West Brighton.A lottery player on Staten Island scored on March 3, picking up one of two winning tickets worth $16,713.50 at Atta Cards & Gifts Inc., located at 262 Arden Ave. Suite L & M, in Arden Heights. The other winning ticket, worth the same amount, was sold in Brooklyn. One lucky winner scored $33,348.50 with a top-prize TAKE 5 ticket purchased at Romi Cards & Gifts, known as Card$mart, located at 3161 Amboy Road in Oakwood, back on March 20. On June 25, a player purchased a ticket worth $15,119 at New Dorp’s 7-Eleven, located at 2477 Hylan Blvd. An additional ticket, purchased in Manhattan, also was drawn that day as well. On the Fourth of July, a Staten Island lottery player won $6,391.50 after buying their ticket at a mart located at 535 Vanderbilt Ave., in Park Hill. Two winners in Queens also drew tickets worth the same figure. Just after celebrating our nation’s birth, a Staten Island winner scored $13,989 on July 6. The ticket was sold at Hylan Stationers, located at 2736 Hylan Blvd., New Dorp, while another winning ticket was sold in Brooklyn. July 8 marked another day for dual winners on Staten Island and Manhattan. The Staten Island winner picked up their winning ticket, valued at $15,321.50, at Liquor City USA, located at 965 Richmond Ave. Suite H in Graniteville.August only had one Staten Island winner, with a single player receiving $9,618 after buying a ticket at Apple Department Store II, located at 112 Canal St. in Stapleton. Another player in Newburgh also drew the prize. On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a single winning ticket worth $10,964 was sold at Forest Convenience & Gift, located at 746-748 Forest Ave., in West Brighton.Win 4

Dual Win 4 players won thousands of dollars after the Aug. 12 drawing.

The tickets were sold at Romi Cards & Gifts, also known as Card$mart, located at 3161 Amboy Road in Oakwood.

According to the store, a single player won $5,000 on a $1 straight bet for the midday drawing and $12,500 on five $0.50 straight bets for the evening drawing, totaling $17,500 in prize winnings.
