WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Part-time Watertown City Judge Eric Swartz has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk in Lewis County.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said Swartz’s car was parked illegally on Bardo Road within eyeshot of the county public safety building. A deputy who went to investigate smelled alcohol on Swartz’s breath, according to the sheriff’s office.
His alleged blood alcohol content was .08 percent.
The State Commission on Judicial Conduct recently announced that Swartz had agreed to step down from his judicial post early at the end of this year as he suffers from a condition interfering with his ability to perform his job.
