STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Staten Island and surrounding areas beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Saturday afternoon.
Heavy snow is expected across portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, with total accumulations between 4 and 8 inches expected, according to the weather service’s New York office.
The National Weather Service issued the watch around 1 p.m. Wednesday. Officials warn that slippery road conditions are likely and may impact the Friday evening commute.
Residents are advised to monitor the latest forecasts for updates on the developing weather situation.
