New York State Police announce appointment of Major Peter C. Arcadi as Troop B Commander
The New York State Police are proud to announce the appointment of Major Peter C. Arcadi as the 29th Troop Commander of Troop B, following his previous role as captain of Zone 3 within the same troop.
Major Arcadi began his distinguished career by entering the New York State Police Academy on Feb. 14, 2005. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Troop B, SP Massena. In 2012, he was promoted to sergeant and assigned to SP Ray Brook, where he became sergeant/station commander in 2014. He later transferred back to SP Massena in 2016, continuing in the same capacity.
In April 2018, Major Arcadi was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to Zone 1 in Plattsburgh. Two years later, in May 2020, he was appointed acting administrative captain at the Troop B headquarters in Ray Brook, officially assuming the role in May 2021. In October 2024, he was assigned as Zone 3 commander, serving in that position until his promotion to major in September 2025.

A lifelong resident of the North Country, Major Arcadi grew up in St. Regis Falls, Franklin County, and is one of only three Troop B commanders to have been born and raised in the region. He graduated from Clarkson University in 2002 with a degree in physics.
Major Arcadi comes from a proud family tradition of state police service. He is a second-generation trooper, following in the footsteps of his father, retired Senior Investigator Peter J. Arcadi, and his uncle, retired Senior Investigator Charles E. Bishop. His brothers, Investigator Nicholas W. Arcadi and Sergeant/Station Commander Daniel J. Arcadi, as well as his son, Peter A. Arcadi, and several cousins, also serve in state service. He and his family reside in the North Country.
Troop B encompasses 20 stations across five counties: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, St. Lawrence and Hamilton.
“It is an honor to serve as the Troop B Commander and continue my family’s tradition of providing professional police service to the people of New York State,” Major Arcadi said. “I am committed to ensuring the residents of the North Country are treated fairly and receive the highest level of service from our members.”
Major Arcadi officially assumed command of Troop B on Sept. 25, 2025, succeeding Major Brent M. Davison, who retired after a distinguished career with the New York State Police.
Silver Bay YMCA announces CEO transition
Silver Bay YMCA CEO Peter Doliber will be stepping down from his role as he continues his courageous battle with cancer. Doliber and his wife Jean will be relocating to be closer to family so that he can focus on his health as he starts palliative care.
Doliber has served as CEO since 2022, guiding the organization with unwavering commitment, empathy and purpose. Under his leadership, Silver Bay YMCA has grown in reach, deepened its impact, and remained steadfast in its mission to cultivate relationships, strengthen communities and nurture spirit, mind and body for all.
“While this is a very difficult moment, it’s also a testament to Peter’s character and commitment,” said Elise Walton, chair of the Silver Bay YMCA Board of Trustees. “Despite a challenging, deeply personal health journey, Peter has remained focused on ensuring Silver Bay’s strength and continued success. His legacy is one of compassion, innovation, and lasting impact. We are immensely grateful for his leadership and hold him and his family in our hearts.”

Reflecting on his decision, Doliber shared: “This has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my life. It’s been an honor to serve this organization, its mission and the incredible people behind it. While stepping away is incredibly hard, I know it’s the right step for myself and for my family. I leave knowing the organization is in strong hands, and I’ll continue cheering it on, just from a different seat.”
The Board of Trustees has unanimously appointed Lucas Callahan, current chief operating officer, as interim CEO, effective immediately.
“We are fully confident in Lucas’ ability to lead during this transition, and we are grateful for his willingness to step up. His operational expertise and deep alignment with our values make him the right person to guide us forward while we begin the national search for our next CEO,” Walton stated.
Callahan has worked closely alongside Doliber in executing the organization’s strategic vision and brings a steady hand and deep knowledge to the role. The board will conduct a national search for a permanent CEO in the coming months.
Callahan added: “Peter has been an incredible mentor and colleague. I’m honored to step into this role during such an important time for the organization, and I remain committed to carrying forward the work we’ve built together. Our team is strong and our mission is clear. I’m grateful for the board’s trust and for Peter’s leadership that brought us to this point.”
As the Silver Bay YMCA leadership team continues the important work ahead, Peter’s vision and values will remain at the heart of all that they do.
