NEW YORK (PIX11) – A travel advisory has been issued in New York City as a winter storm is expected to dump up to 10 inches of snow across the tri-state area on Friday.

The city’s winter weather response plan has also been activated for Friday night through Saturday, according to New York City Emergency Management. Sanitation crews are pre-treating roads, loading salt spreaders, and readying snowplows to clear streets and bike lanes as conditions worsen.
