An area of low pressure approaching the tri-state Friday is expected to bring accumulating snow by late afternoon into Saturday morning. Up to 8 inches could fall in New York City and the metro area, while locally higher amounts — up to a foot — are possible in parts of the Hudson Valley.
Post-Christmas travel is expected to be heavily impacted.
