With the snow hours away, officials have cancelled hundreds of flights at major New York City area airports.
Over 500 flights were scrubbed Friday at Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International airports, according to Flightradar 24, a tracking service. Some 279 flights are already cancelled tomorrow, the service said.
According to the National Weather Service in New York, the major airports are forecasted to get hit hard by the snow, between 7.2 inches at JFK, 7.4 inches at Newark and 8 inches at LaGuardia.

For the Shore, the National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a winter storm warning for Western Monmouth County, which is in effect from 3 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday.
Snow accumulations could reach up to 6 inches in Monmouth while Ocean County is expected to see as much as 4 inches.
The NYC metro area airports are advising travelers to check the status of their flights.
