STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Firefighters spent about an hour battling a Friday night Great Kills home fire in frigid temperatures.
According to a department spokesperson, the FDNY received a report of a fire at 97 Driggs St. at around 6:56 p.m.
In total, the FDNY deployed 21 units to the scene, consisting of 79 fire and EMS personnel.
One civilian refused medical attention at the site, the spokesperson said.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 8:06 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the spokesperson told the Advance/SILive.com.
