The New York Yankees have a lot of talent at the big league level, but they need their farm system to continue churning out stars if they want to sustain success for the future.
There are a few top outfielders in the Yankees’ farm system, including slugger Spencer Jones, but there’s a chance the Yankees have an under-the-radar star emerging before their eyes.
Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter shared some high praise for Yankees prospect Dillon Lewis ahead of next season.

“With an athletic 6-foot-3, 205-pound frame and a healthy mix of power and speed, Lewis has one of the most impressive toolboxes in the Yankees system,” Reuter wrote. “He hit .371/.444/.729 with 22 home runs and 20 steals in 55 games at Queens University of Charlotte before going in the 11th round of the 2024 draft, then posted a .766 OPS with 22 home runs and 26 steals between Single-A and High-A in his first full professional season. The hit tool is a question, but the upside is huge if everything clicks.”
Lewis has questionable bat-to-ball skills, but when he finds consistent contact, the ball tends to leave the yard at a high rate. He crushed 22 home runs in his first professional season this year.
He still needs some development in the minor leagues for another year or two, but it’s beginning to feel like the Yankees struck gold with their 13th-round pick in 2024. Lewis’ raw power is enough to make him one of the Yankees’ most intriguing prospects going into next year.
