We all have our hopes for the new year. I’ll list a few of mine here. Please add yours in the comments.
1. A long term solution to the problem of the crumbling BQE; one that doesn’t involve continuing traffic fumes and vibrations, doesn’t require the “temporary” destruction of the Promenade, and doesn’t result in heavier traffic on local streets.
2. An enforceable solution to the problem of helicopter noise.
3. An attractive tenant for the long vacant building that formerly housed a Starbucks on Montague Street.
4. A new owner who will refurbish the crumbling townhouse on Columbia Heights.
5. A new digital time and temperature sign on the new building to go up at Montague and Cadman Plaza West, and replacement on the building of the plaque commemorating the Brooklyn Dodgers’ (whose home office was located there) signing of Jackie Robinson, Major League Baseball’s first Black player.
