CANTON, New York (WWNY) – The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office has downgraded Monday’s travel ban to a travel advisory as icy, wintery conditions persist for some.
Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Office put the travel ban in place due to hazardous weather conditions, including freezing rain and icy roads. Road conditions deteriorated rapidly throughout the county, and it caused dangerous conditions, particularly on untreated roads, bridges, and secondary roadways.
Conditions improved by mid-morning Monday.
