The cult-favorite UWS bagel spot Absolute Bagels abruptly closed its doors in December of last year, leaving customers crushed. But now, it’s back open with a new name.
New Absolute Bagels opened this week with new ownership but many of the same employees that worked at the old store.
2. In final days in office, Adams touts record fighting crime
Mayor Eric Adams touted his record on public safety on Monday in what will be some of his final remarks from City Hall as mayor, pointing to achievements he has made in the final year of his mayoralty bringing down crime.
When asked, Adams declined to say what exactly he would be doing post-City Hall. He would also not commit to attending Zohran Mamdani’s inauguration.
3. MoJazz Dance celebrates 30 years of proving dance is timeless
When Audrey Hubbard Madison of Fort Greene founded MoJazz Dance in 1995, it was initially intended to provide a nurturing environment for dancers off all skill levels, but older than 30.
MoJazz began life as an extension of the modern jazz movement. The MoJazz ensemble includes members who range in age from their early 50s to mid-70s, and over the last 30 years, many of the women who learned about the group through word of mouth have remained loyal.
