A vigil honoring Yahya Sinwar — the Hamas leader who orchestrated the October 7th massacre — was held on Thursday in New York City.
Videos posted online from the Bronx event show candles, banners, and portraits glorifying Sinwar and other terrorist leaders.
The gathering was organized by the Bronx Anti-War Coalition. Attendees stood beneath a banner reading “Glory to the Axis of Resistance,” surrounded by images of figures from Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and the Iranian regime.
The vigil marked one year since Sinwar was killed by IDF troops in Gaza.

Pro-Terror Messaging Spreads to Europe
The Bronx gathering was not an isolated act. In Madrid, Spain, activists plastered posters praising Sinwar throughout the city. The extremist network Samidoun — designated a terrorist organization by both the United States and Canada — issued a statement calling him “a people’s fighter who was martyred in battle against the national enemy.”
Meanwhile, in Athens, Greek, police blocked a planned memorial for Sinwar. The order covered central Athens, including Syntagma Square, from Thursday evening to early Friday morning. Authorities cited public safety concerns and laws that forbid glorifying terrorism.
As a result, activists in Greece could not stage any public display. Nevertheless, the messaging from Madrid to New York revealed a coordinated ideological campaign. These groups use the language of “resistance” to justify terror against the Jewish people and State of Israel.
A Warning Sign of Radicalization
The glorification of Yahya Sinwar — the mastermind of October 7, the deadliest day in Israel’s history and the darkest for the Jewish people since the Holocaust — exposes how antisemitic extremism is spreading across Western democratic societies. By celebrating mass murderers, these groups twist the language of “resistance” into open support for terror.
Such displays mark a profound moral decline in public discourse. They no longer represent political debate — they amplify antisemitic hatred and embolden those who seek to harm Jews.
