Every year, dreamers stop by the New Year’s Eve Wishing Wall in Times Square to write their hopes and dreams on tissue squares. Here’s what they say.
Their manifestations range from personal enrichment…
… to peace on Earth.
Austin Shaffer, of Brooklyn, wants “Zohran to lower NYC rent.”
“To get my aerial.”
Leah Frisbie, 11, wrote on her gymnastics goal for 2026.
Sawyer Brooks, 21, of Oxford, Alabama, knows what she wants: “Get skinny.”
While another dreamer would rather forget all about it.
Some submissions were NYC-centric, like “my fave restaurants stay in business” and “for 311 to be effective.”
Many were personal.
Others were universal.
The tissues are used as part of the confetti that fall from the Manhattan sky after the ball drops at midnight.
