INDUSTRY CITY — THE NEW BROOKLYN DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR the nonprofit God’s Love We Deliver will open on Jan. 8, with celebrities joining the volunteers in serving specially tailored meals for people with chronic or serious medical conditions.

Actor and activist Rosie Perez, fashion designer Michael Kors, God’s Love We Deliver CEO Terrence Meck, and regular volunteers will package meal deliveries to celebrate the opening of Liberty BKLYN, the new 30,000-square-foot distribution center for God’s Love We Deliver, at Industry City. The nonprofit provides medically tailored meals for people dealing with chronic illness. While God’s Love serves the entire city, 26% of its 15,000 clients reside in Brooklyn. The newly operational 30,000-square-foot distribution center will allow God’s Love to increase the number of meals it serves from 4 million to 6.5 million meals annually.

In early December, God’s Love We Deliver launched a capital campaign, in conjunction with the organization’s 40th anniversary, toward the new distribution center.
