NEW YORK (PIX11) — There could be snow in New York City as the clock strikes midnight and the ball drops in Times Square, but that may not be the end of it.

While New Year’s Eve wraps up with unseasonably cold temperatures and a possible coating of snow to end 2025, PIX11 meteorologists predict the early morning could bring another round of flakes.

After the ball drops in Times Square, temperatures will drop into the mid and upper 20s for most areas, with teens possible in the Hudson Valley.

There is a chance for light snow between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Thursday as everyone makes their way back home from the heart of Manhattan.

Wind and cloud coverage from Wednesday night will stick around on Thursday.
