A pedestrian was seriously hurt on New Year’s Eve after being struck by a vehicle in Union County, authorities said.
The person was hit about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Broad Street in Elizabeth, city officials said.
Surveillance video showed the pedestrian walking in the road on North Broad Street toward Parker Road before the crash occurred.
Elizabeth police officers found the person unconscious and breathing with a cut to the right eyebrow.
The person was taken to University Hospital in Newark and remained unconscious on Thursday.
The driver stayed at the scene and has not been charged.
