SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: A new year means new laws going into effect here in New York state.

Capital Tonight host Susan Arbetter offers an overview of the most consequential laws this year, including Medical Aid in Dying, minimum wage, the New York State Secure Choice Savings Program, new state drivers’ points system, the Companion Animal Care Standards Act, changes to the state’s discovery process to support survivors of domestic violence and other serious crimes, new laws to address the high-profile killings in prison of Robert Brooks and Messiah Nantwi and more.
